Mike and Diane Jarrett created the Jarrett brand with a few goals in mind: meet the transportation needs that they saw in the industry, create opportunities, and create jobs. More than twenty years later, they have grown Jarrett into a successful, family-run business that values its people. At Jarrett, we believe in living out our core values not only in the office, but in the entirety of our lives. We look for dedicated people who do the right thing, do their job to the best of their ability, and show they care. We have found that hiring people with these qualities in mind has created the great culture that we experience every day.

Our people are the reason we have a unique company culture. Jarrett team members enjoy coming to work because of the atmosphere created by leadership and their co-workers. Employees create an environment where friendships grow, work is fun, yet still effective, and people feel cared for beyond their work life. 

From the start of our company in 1998 to present day, Mike and Diane Jarrett’s vision for employing the best people still stands. We believe in supporting and empowering our employees by investing in their personal and professional growth. 

Community Involvement

With Civic Responsibility as one of our core values, making an impact in our community is central to the heart of Jarrett’s mission. We believe that helping your community flourish is the responsibility of every business. Our employees back this mission by participating in various community service initiatives throughout the year. We have close partnerships with the Salvation Army and Wayne County Children Services, as well as other local community-building organizations. Some of the initiatives we are involved in each year include:

  • Meal Packing | Team members go pack lunches for students affected by food insecurity at the Salvation Army.
  • Canned Food Drive | We host an internal competition to see which department can collect the most cans. The cans are donated to the Salvation Army.
  • Heart Walk | Each year, Jarrett sponsors a team for the annual American Heart Association’s Heart Walk.
  • Water Projects | In 2021, Jarrett hosted a virtual 5k along with internal employee initiatives to make a financial donation to charity:water. We were able to partner with the charity: water organization to fund a water project in a third-world country where people have limited access to clean and healthy water.
  • Christmas Sponsorship | Each December, Jarrett “adopts” children in need through the Wayne County Children Services’ “Make a Wish” Christmas program and employees purchase gifts off of the children’s wish lists.

Employees often participate or start other civic responsibility initiatives of their own each year. We believe their compassion and ambition is what makes up The Jarrett Difference.

“The Salvation Army Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center staff, advisory board, and volunteers are extremely grateful for your service to us. Our building looks great, inside and outside! The group of interns worked diligently to accomplish all the tasks given. They certainly seemed to enjoy serving. Your continued efforts to help us throughout the school year packing for kids in need for the Percy’s Weekend Feeding Program is a huge partnership! We appreciate how your business supports our work here in the Orrville community to help those in need of food and financial assistance. Because of your efforts, our staff and regular volunteers can now focus on the daily needs of the office and consumer services. We appreciate your partnership in this service effort and we also look forward to how this partnership can continue.”
